Embark on a wilderness trip near Helsinki – Visit Natura Viva in Nuuksio and hike to the campfire sites in the National park.
The Saarilampi campfire site is located in the western section of the Nuuksio national park. Saarilampi is a wonderful forest lake, and the walking route here is very memorable. The trip from Hawk Nest, Natura Viva’s depot in Nuuksio, is about five kilometers. Along the route you will have the chance to visit Kattila, with a famous nature sight, the Kattila pothole.
The Saarilampi district makes this trip very worthwhile. After reaching the lakeshore, you will be able to walk around the lake, as there’s a path encircling the lake. The Saarilampi campfire site is located on the northern shore of the lake.
On the southern shore you will find Tikankolo, one of Natura Viva’s rental wilderness cabins in Nuuksio. Combine a night in Tikankolo to your wilderness trip! It’s definitely a great way to spend some quality time in the middle of the nature near the Helsinki metropolis.
Metsähallitus takes care of the campfire sights in Nuuksio National park and they make sure that the sights have firewood ready for use. It is a good idea to pack a knife and proper equipment to make fire with you.
